At the start of the seminar there was an analysis of the situation in the individual countries with regard to the structure of the Associations as well as with regard to the members’ understanding of the Kolping Society and its objectives.
This analysis alone made it clear that, on the one hand, the Kolping spirit is strongly rooted among the members in Asia but, on the other hand, the knowledge regarding the person of Adolph Kolping, the structure and the aims of the Society has to be urgently improved. The participants in the seminar dealt with the fundamentals of the Society, as outlined in the Basic Documents of the Kolping Society, with the stipulations of the Catholic Social Teachings, and with the biography of Adolph Kolping.
At the end of the seminar, educational concepts were worked out together for the educating of members, for salaried co-workers, as well as for Praesides. The initiative of KOLPING INTERNATIONAL’S Cooperation and Consulting Office in Asia to organize such an exchange of experiences on the subject of educational work at the Asian level and to work out joint concepts was strongly welcomed by all the participants in the seminar.
