Under the motto: “My first steps towards democracy“, children aged four to ten years dealt with the basic principles of democracy in a playful way. They learned how several children can get together in order to attain larger goals. Individual persons were elected and the children also learned that it is not possible to achieve all of one’s goals and that one has to agree on compromises.
Through these measures aimed at children, the Kolping Society tries to contribute to increasing the understanding of democracy among children and thus the foundations are laid for a solid democracy.
