This discussion took place because of a huge request by the party “Bündnis 90/Die Grünen”. In the course of the debate BORDA was mentioned positively by the member of parliament Mrs Gabriele Groneberg (socialdemocratic party):
If we are talking about Development Organisations: BORDA in Bremen is a good example, they are doing an outstanding job on this field.
Mrs Groneberg was able to take a closer look at the work of BORDA on several occasions.
A special problem Mrs Groneberg was pointing at were the cultural differences between the origin-countries of the development organisations and the countries where the development projects are implemented. Due to the nonobservance of these differences a lot of projects fail. On this field the work of BORDA is also excellent.
