Water and Sanitation Experts from countries from four continents (Myanmar, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, South Africa, Australia, Sweden, Great Britain and Germany) introduced the 41 workshop participations impressively to the current situation of basic sanitation activities and problems in disaster and refugee camps.
As responsible designers or chiefs of WatSan- arrangements of international first aid organisations they discussed subsequently needed and manageable improvements with representatives from relevant emergency, development and research institutions. In this context BORDA presented their new developed Seacontainer- and Fiberglass Wastewater Treatment solutions (Prefab-DEWTAS) with the intention to contribute to the improvement of sanitation facilities in disaster and refugee camps.

The experience of more than 10 years that BORDA has collected as facilitating organization in Decentralized Wastewater Treatment and Community Based Sanitation shall now be integrated in cooperation projects with emergency relief organisations.
Thanks to the encouragement of the Senator for Environment, Traffic, Construction and European Affairs and thanks to the BMZ this 5th BNS Workshop could again be realized.
