India: Kolping Society Supports the Construction of more than 4,000 Houses for Families

For this housing programme, the members have to prove that they have savings and own a plot of land before they get to enjoy the subsidies of the Kolping Society.  Due to the Tsunami and other natural disasters, the time they needed to save the equity capital markedly increased in some regions, but by now all available means have been put into use.

The housing programme extends to all 30 dioceses in South India, in which the Kolping Society is present.  Father Victor Santiago, who is the initiator of this housing programme, wrote in a report to the promoters of this programme: “I whish you could see the sparkling eyes of the people when they move into their new house. More than 4,000 Families now received a house and therefore more than 20,000 people have a decent place to live”.
