In 2007 AWO International started a program for juvenile violence prevention in cooperation with local partner organizations in Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala. In 2008 El Salvador was integrated in the program, the project activity in Nicaragua started in January 2009 In Mexico the project is carried out in the three federal states Chiapas and Tabasco by the partner organization “Iniciativas para la Identidad y la Inclusión” (INICIA) in cooperation with different youth groups and networks. |

By the social care of children and adolescents, through community and district centers and by offering workshops on health care, political and cultural activities the social structures are being changed positively. It is an important goal to shape persons in such a way that they take on responsibility for themselves, their fellow men and the environment. In Mexico-City the national organization of the Mexican Kolping Society not only has its headquarters, but it also runs a center for citizens with a Rock Café and a library, where language courses, mentoring in the afternoon and rooms for the self-help groups are being offered. |
