Honduras

In 2007 AWO International started a program for juvenile violence prevention in cooperation with local partner organizations in Honduras, Mexico and Guatemala. In 2008 El Salvador was integrated in the program, the project activity in Nicaragua started in January 2009.
 
In Honduras AWO International cooperates with the partner organization “Comité de Familiares de Detenidos Desaparecidos en Honduras” (COFADEH), which concentrates on the project regions of Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula and Siguatepeque.


Ecological farming, training of promoters and multipliers, further education of women, nutrition covering, strengthening of local and regional organisational structures, political education, health education, intercultural education, strengthening of organisations of basic needs

The main focus is on “rural development“. The target group comprises the subsistence farmers who also plant some coffee. Training is above all offered in organic farming (control of diseases, increase in production, innovation of species, improvement of commercialisation strate-gies and production) in the region of ”El Paraiso“ around Danlí.
